Yesterday i came into the lesson to pitch my idea for the documentary i didn't have a slide to show any images but i felt confident in my idea to be able to talk about it and i had enough information so that my panel could create their own picture of what i was telling them.
Not having a slide show clearly didn't put off the panel as my idea was choosen to be commissioned meaning i have now to start talking to people getting them to fill in the consent forms and getting them all out of the way and i can concentrate more on my shooting script and also trying to do a picture version of some shots i would like in my interviews and also locations shots.
In the interviews Kathy will explain some of the scans i will be using in the film so in a way she will narrate her own life and her own world that she lives in and that way we have one voice that the audience can follow and it will run a lot smoother than having two voices especially when Kathy has such a strong irish accent. I feel the irish accent will create character for Kathy an give the documentary its own personality that we will be able to let the audience feel the emotions Kathy feels when she is feeling sad i want the audience to go through the same emotion to maybe help them understand Kathy a bit more than just an person on camera talking.
